Le premier film du cinéaste soviétique Dziga Vertov s’intitule L’Anniversaire de la Révolution. Il date de 1918 et célèbre le premier anniversaire de la révolution d’Octobre. Il fut réalisé selon les principes caractéristiques du cinéma de Vertov à base de montage d’images trouvées ou documentaires. On vient, en novembre 2018, de célébrer le centenaire de sa sortie. Or, il s’agissait d’un long métrage extrêmement impressionnant, d’une longueur de plus de trois mille mètres, un record à l’époque de la Guerre Civile.
